1. Can classic cars enter China?

Yes. Classic, vintage and collector cars enter China under the same temporary import rules as any other foreign vehicle. There is no age-based ban for temporary entry — a 1960s Porsche or a modern GT both receive a Temporary Import Permit and a Chinese temporary plate.

The practical differences are paperwork and deposit: collectors usually carry more documentation, and the customs deposit is calculated on the car's declared value, which tends to be higher for rare models.

4. Insurance & road rules

Third-party liability insurance is mandatory for every vehicle, classics included. Your agency arranges it at the border. Collector cars follow the same Chinese road rules as any other vehicle. For rally cars, confirm fuel type and roll-cage dimensions with your agency before the crossing — they affect inspection.

5. Clubs & rally convoys

Classic car clubs and vintage rallies often enter China as a convoy. Each car needs its own permit and documents, but one agency can prepare every vehicle in the group in advance, coordinate a single crossing, and arrange the same deposit guarantee for all of them. Tell us your group size and entry date for a per-car quote.
